This option is available for all of our services, allowing clients to receive high quality care that fits their individual needs and circumstances.

United States Federal Probation (USPO)
United States Federal Probation can be sentenced as an alternative to a prison term sentence after offenders have been charged with a federal criminal offense. AAP has contracted with United States Federal Probation since 1995 providing substance use disorder services, which include: Evidence-Based Interventions to treat: substance use group therapy, Moral Reconation Therapy, individual substance use services and alcohol and other drug testing services.

AAP offers affordable mental health services in Ventura County. We specialize in trauma informed care, strength-based approaches and culturally inclusive modalities. Our services are evidenced-based.

Individual therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore personal challenges, build resilience, and develop healthier ways of coping. Through one-on-one sessions, clients gain insight, skills, and strategies tailored to their unique needs and goals.

Our outpatient services are designed to treat people at all stages of use. We have predesigned or custom-designed programs to best work for you.

Our substance use group provides a supportive environment to build coping skills, strengthen motivation, and share experiences with others on a similar path. The group focuses on working through challenges that can lead to relapse while developing strategies to prevent it and maintain long-term recovery.
Drug Testing and Drug-Free Workplace
Alcohol and Other Drug Testing Services are offered through private, community-based programs as well as court-mandated requirements. These services support individuals involved in substance use disorder programs, CFS cases, child custody or divorce proceedings, and other legal matters. Testing is also available for families, employers, and individuals seeking private or personal screenings.
Internships and Practicum
AAP is a leading agency in training, development, and preparing students to meet the requirements for becoming licensed practitioners. The agency offers LPHA internships at all levels and partners with universities such as the University of Southern California (USC). Programs include substance use counseling and mental health internships for MFT, LCSW, LPCC, LSW, and other Master’s-level practitioners, along with volunteer placements through California State University, Channel Islands. AAP also provides doctoral-level practicum and pre-doctoral internships and is expanding to include post-doctoral residencies and continuing education for licensed professionals.
Our Story
AAP has been providing mental health, substance use, and testing services in Ventura County since 1989. We have been providing testing services in Los Angeles County since 1979. AAP is under new ownership. Our new owners are excited and honored to expand our services in Ventura County.
