Dr. Michael Juarez, CEO
Executive Director
Director of Clinical Training
Dr. Michael has been employed with AAP since 2007. Dr. Michael has been the Executive Director since 2010. As the Director he has designed the structure and operations of the agency. Dr. Michael published his dissertation assessing AAP clients in The Matrix Model and Moral Reconation Therapy and measured their respective effects on recidivism. Dr. Michael has his Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology from California Lutheran University, an APA accredited university. He completed his APA pre-doctoral and post-doctoral internships with a focus on child, adolescent, and adult holistic whole health services focused on cultural diversity and inclusion. Dr. Michael specializes in adolescent early intervention psychosis. He completed his residency and specialty training at the Institute for Multicultural Counseling and Education Services in Los Angeles, California.
Vanessa Aguirre
Chief Operations Officer
Vanessa has been an employee of Alternative Action Programs since 2012. She was hired for the administration office and within 2 years she was promoted to billing specialist. Following 2-years of dedicated services, Vanessa was promoted to Office Manager. Vanessa provided exemplary Office Manager leadership for 5.5 years and was subsequently promoted to Compliance Officer. She has excelled in her positions within this company. In 2023, Vanessa was promoted to Chief Operations Officer. Vanessa ensures all corporate processed and procedures comply with the law, ethics, and within AAP’s high internal standards as well. Vanessa is responsible to endure the safety and development of our agency as a whole.
Clinical Supervisor
Sal Sandoval, LCSW
Mental Health Clinical Supervisor
Sal Sandoval is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), licensed by the California Board of Behavioral Sciences. He is a graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles. As a Field Instructor, he has provided clinical supervision to pre-licensed MSW Associates, MFT Interns and LPCC candidates from various universities. Sal has also maintained a part-time private practice. Through the process of supervision, Sal is committed to fostering lifelong professional learning and personal growth; he is sensitive to diversity in all its terms; he upholds strong values of ethical principles and demonstrates the ability to build supervisory relationships while providing effective clinical feedback. Sal has the ability to assess the learning needs and development level of the supervisee while always encouraging feedback from the supervisee in order to meet their individual objectives.

Devine Mercy University
Claire began her practicum in 2022. Claire graduates from her Marriage and Family Therapy Master’s Program from Devine Mercy University in he Summer of 2023. Claire has been trained in Internal Family Systems Therapy and she is also certified as a Highlands Ability Battery Consultant with The Highlands Company. Claire integrates strength-based approaches with spirituality into her therapy. She is especially interested in practicing using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Attachment Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory. Claire plans to specialize in child therapy in her own private practice.

Alisa began with AAP in 2001. In her 22 years of service to AAP, Alisa has the knowledge and understanding of our agency to provide prospective contractors a robust overview of our testing services. Alisa specializes in DOT and other high level testing services.

Aimee began with AAP in 2022. Aimee is the administration for our corporate office in Ventura.

Brooke comes to us from California State University, Channel Islands. Dr. Kevin Volkan, Ed.D, Ph.D created a special intern experience class where students can have real experience in their undergraduate studies. Brooke aspires to be a Doctor of Clinical Psychology.
